Kyousuke Motomi is a popular girl mangaka being its rare male author. He creates stories and characters more realistically - without helpless heroines and with better male character detailization.

Born August 1, he debuted in Betsucomi with Hetakuso Kyupiddo (No Good Cupid) in 2002. The West knows him for Handsome! Beads Club and the recent Electric Daisy printed in Betsucomi. He mostly writes in comedy, romance and school life. Her mangas published so far are:
* Penguin Prince (2003)
* Otokomae Beads Club (Handsome Man! Beads Club, 2004)
* Purikyuu (Love Arrow, 2005)
* Seishun Survival (2006)
* Beast Master (2007)
* Dengeki Daisy (2007)

In Penguin Prince manga (released in 2003) heroine Ranka has a witch fame at school. Her classmate Murakami labeled as a "prince" by the girls keeps a talisman - a penguin toy. Through this shared secret they both start exploring their backgrounds.

Manga Handsome Man! Beads Club (2004), included the stories of Hyper Version and Very Black White Day. In search of a true soul mate, Oikawa Ibuki transfers schools acting like a gentle lady. Once a strange "crow messenger" observes her saving a puppy.

2004 also saw a manga collection, BITTER 2, a 2nd omnibus edition with themed sentimental love stories. They made a huge success in Betsucomi, the best girl manga encyclopedia.

In Love Arrow manga (aka Purikyuu) released in 2005, Katsuragi Anna is an ex-ballerina searching for her way after failure. A friend tricks her to join an archery club surprisingly presided by her childhood rival, Jinnai!

The Seishun Survival collection (2006) contained 4 stories - Youth Survival, Liar Love Letters, Sword and Heart: Dangerous Relationship and Never Dying Crow. The latter is a Handsome! Beads Club side story specially for this manga fans.

In Youth Survival, Kiriko can't get the best of summer camping. Together with Satoru she even climbs mountains to return Kazuo and Hana-chan asked to pick wild herbs. There they get lost too!

In Liar Love Letters, Ritsu agrees to break up so easily that her ex revenges by betting to trick Ritsu into falling in love. Knowing the truth, Ritsu rages at all the participant boys. Suddenly she meets someone whose lies win her heart.

As seen from the 3rd story title (Sword and Heart: Dangerous Relationship), it relates to swordsmen. Sword is the shinobi character. Young Shizuru has liked her handsome and brave ninja senpai. Now she faces other ninjas set to steal a valuable from her family.

Beast Master manga (2007) is one of Motomi's hits. Yuiko Kubozuka, a high schooler, loves animals but faces their antipathy. So she likes a new classmate, Leo Aoi, with a beastly appearance though a seemingly tender soul. His true nature reveals when they are attacked - Leo turns into a violent beast just to save Yuiko.

Motomi's recent manga is Dengeki Daisy (2007) proclaiming "No matter what happens, I'll protect you." Teru, a poor sweetheart, had a support cell phone from her dying older brother and only hope. Working for a criminal school janitor, she begins wondering who's DAISY's sending her SMSs. DAISY may be very close to Teru.

Beside shoujo, Motomi writes other manga. He also likes sleeping, tea ceremonies, Haruki Murakami's books, shinobi and ninja. He describes his work as "If my stories can touch you, make you laugh, forget unhappy things, or even give you that "good job" feeling, then I'll be super, super happy!"
