There is an increase in the popularity of HID lights. Still, maybe you don't know exactly what this is. Well, here are some things that ever car owner should know about HID lights and you must first know why it's better than halogen light.

Today, more and more people are realizing just how important safety is and they are willing to take steps for extra precaution. This is especially true for drivers who are constantly on the road because they are responsible for the life of their passengers. No driver is safe from an accident. That is why many are switching to HID lights. It lessens the risk of an accident.

HID lights is not very different from lightning. It uses an electrical discharge to fire up gas known as xenon in every sealed bulb. It has no filament but it causes the bulb to light by igniting 2 electrodes using an electrical discharge. This is only possible with the presence of xenon. That's why HID lighting is also called xenon lighting.

Brightness is the main difference of HID and halogen. HID is brighter by 300% than halogen and this is comparing only the 35W HID light bulb to the 55W halogen bulb. With color temperature, HID is much higher than halogen. In addition, HID lights are bluish white which is closer to the color of natural daylight. This does wonders with visibility on the road. HID is said to be more sturdy than halogen bulbs because it can withstand up to 10 times more road vibrations.

Light temperature doesn't equate to brightness. People tend to think that the hotter the light, the brighter it is. The truth is that temperature and luminosity are 2 different things. It affects the color more. A 3000K light bulb emits a yellow color while a 4300K emits white. 6000K HID lights emit light blue light which is unlike 8000K which emits blue and the 10000K that emits a deep blue color. Regardless of the color, all are 300% brighter when compared to halogen.

Considering the many benefits of using HID lights, it is not at all surprising that a many car owners are making the switch and getting rid of their halogen bulbs. Its easy to install. Professionals aren't needed because you can do it yourself.

Those are the info you need to know about HID lights. Are you ready to make the switch?
