Whether you are a trained craftsman or a weekend hobbyist like me, having solid and easy to use woodworking project plans is a must.
I used to be the guy that would just print out a photograph of say a table I wanted build. Then I would spend sometimes hours drawing a plan and making material lists to build it. The result was always the same, yes it would get built but it never quite turned out the way I wanted it to.
A while ago I was introduced to the delight of really concise simple to understand and utilize woodworking project plans. Here are just a few ways that my woodworking has improved and the quality of my projects gotten immensely better.
1. No more guessing and going mad with a calculator.
I do not spend hours any more attempting to figure out dimensions or what hardware I need or generating material lists. The plans I utilize have all this and more. I got a complete material list together with all the hardware and there are specific details that show exactly what I need to do to execute the more challenging stuff.
2. No more searching for designs.
With my particular woodworking project plans there are dozens of everything including tables chairs desks bookshelves beds sheds chicken coops- in fact I have more than fourteen thousand different projects that came with one package. These were electronic of course, I don't think I would have the room to store them otherwise.
3. Practical support and advice.
I don't have the words to tell you how awesome it is to be able to pick up the telephone and get a real person who in fact knows their stuff. When I have a question about how to do something.
4. Video tutorials.
Need I say more? The package of woodworking plans I got came with an online member area with explicit video tutorials that walks through the hard stuff step by step. Things like how to perform dove tail drawers and compound miters and the correct way to stain so the finished product is not cloudy. And many more things to boot.
5. Knowing your projects are built right.
Never again will you have to second guess whether or not you have to do this or that, or if you should have done this or that. Realize that your projects are built right every time.
I am so delighted that I chose to get the brilliant woodworking project plans that I have at the moment. Given that I have had them I have built some great built in book shelves, two tables and I am beginning on a chicken coop (my wife wants chickens, so be it).
