An ear doctor who is quite well known played around with his hearing aid controls. According to him, city people are at risk of acquiring hearing loss if things stay as they are. Environmentalists from Los Angeles to New York are pointing accusing fingers at everything from airplanes and jackhammers to air conditioners, motorcycles and trucks as potent sources of pervasive pollutant, noise.

A loud noise would cause a fetus' heart to beat faster and its muscles to contract. Hyperactivity, unhappiness, and irritability are among the behaviors that a person shows because of his exposure to noise. A person cannot produce quality work because of noise.
Although a person may produce the same output, he may not have been able to perform at his best. Noise can also cause sore throats, as people strain to talk above it, and lack of sleep. Although a person may get some sleep despite of it, the person does not feel at all rested, causing him to be irritable during the day.
According to research on African tribes, hearing loss is a direct result of overexposure to noise and not aging. The hearing of the old members of the tribe is so good that it rivals the hearing of your average 25 year old American.
They also do not have the same hearing loss conditions as middle aged Americans exposed to the sounds of war. As the men who heard these noises approach older age, they begin to experience hearing loss.
