One of the most severe types of acne involve deep sebaceous gland blockages beneath the skin surface. Large bumps that are normally found on the upper chest, back and, of course, on the face are what you can expect from this type of blockage. What is interesting, perhaps, is that dead skin cells are part of the reason for the blockages to form. If you are interested in getting rid of the dead skin cells so they don't block your pores, consider having your skin exfoliated. Just bear in mind that there are no assurances that this procedure will work. Acne doesn't always respond to every kind of treatment. It's also no secret that acne runs in some families, but this isn't true for every family member. You certainly may want to consider having your skin exfoliated if you are the only person in your family who has acne. But do be sure that you do not exfoliate to excess or you will damage your skin to some extent.
There is also a good reason behind the warning not to squeeze your pimples. Squeezing your blemishes can stimulate the creation of scar tissue. And when you have a scar, your skin has been damaged. When you squeeze your blemish, squeeze very lightly and not hard enough to make it bleed. The reason you must be careful when you squeeze is to avoid the possibility of causing scarring and unsightly enlarged pores. You can very gently squeeze if the blemish is very near the surface. Before you squeeze, you'll want to cleanse the area with a cloth that has been dipped in warm water. Don't use hot water. This will not only cleanse the area, but will soften the blemish to make squeezing easier. Don't overdo it when you have warmed up the area and are ready to squeeze the pimple. Be very gentle. You can really damage your skin if you attempt to squeeze the last drop of pus from a pimple.
Too much collagen in your face is actually why you have acne scars that are so obvious. When you get acne scars, you really don't want to have them your entire life. Others, if the scars are not too much, then they may not have such an interest.
Most people that have scars develop them after trying to pop zits on their face. An acne blemish of any kind should always be left alone and never squeezed or popped. Many people, in an attempt to get rid of acne on their face, will squeeze their pimples. You should actually never squeeze your pimple until you can see that it will pop easily, or else you may spread the infection in your skin.
Taking care of your acne is usually stymied by the fact that no one knows exactly why you have acne or why it is caused. An individual that contracts acne very easily may have a genetic predisposition to get it. Many people that have family members that have acne do not realize that genetics may not be the reason that they have it. An example of this would be someone that gets acne very bad, however the genetic line is not predisposed to providing it. The way you tell the difference is that many family members will have acne instead of just a couple. Being a victim of acne is a big enough problem without the addition of scarring. The two together can cause emotional upset and heartbreak for the victim. The positive side when it comes to scarring is that you can usually reverse the damage. There are certain types of oils that are known for being excellent for scar removal. You can just Google that, and you will see some of these products.
