Blog commenting is one of the most popular way to get free backlinks to your site. In the comment box, there is a field where you can enter the URL of your website. The anchor text is entered in the name field. You should not comment on too many blog per day. If you comment on too many blogs, your site will be getting too many backlinks in a short time. Getting too many links in a short time can get your site penalized. To prevent this from happening, you should comment 1 – 4 blogs per day. You should not comment on the same number of blogs per day. For example, in day 1, you can comment on 1 blog while on day 2, you can comment 3 blog. In this way, the search engine will not suspect you.
Before commenting, you should read the blog post. If you don’t read the post, you won’t understand the content. As a result, you won’t be able to write a good comment. The comment must not contain just a few words. If the comment has only a few words, the owner of the blog will delete it because it does not contribute to the post. It is wrong to include the URL within the comment. It makes the blog owner thinks that the purpose you comment on the post is because you want to promote your site. You should not copy other comment and use it as your comment. The comment should be unique so that people will feel that you are serious.
Webmasters should only comment on dofollow blogs. Dofollow blogs are blogs that utilize the dofollow link system. Dofollow link will be followed in the search engine. The dofollow attribute informs the search engine that the link is affiliated with the site so the search engine will crawl it. However, nofollow link will never be crawled by the search engine. The nofollow attribute tells the search engine to ignore the link so that it won’t crawl it. Sometimes, the search engine will crawl the nofollow link. However, it is best that you avoid the nofollow blog because the search engine don’t crawl them most of the time. Because the nofollow link is ignored by the search engine, it won’t pass the link juice to your site.
To check whether a site is dofollow, you can right click on the website link in one of the comments in the post. After you right click on your mouse, the right click menu will appear. You should select properties to check the link attribute. If the link attribute is new window, new, dofollow, blank, it means that the link is dofollow. If the link attribute is nofollow or external link, it indicates the link is nofollow. You can also install the Mozilla Firefox No Nofollow plugin to check the links on a blog. The No Nofollow plugin will highlight the dofollow or nofollow links in different colors so you can easily recognize them.
