To many, Facebook is strictly a webpage that bored, uneventful grownups go to pass the time and think they are important. "Look how many friends I have!" Posting irrelevant status updates and obscure material makes people feel connected to the outside world and possibly to other from their past that they have unfortunately lost track with. A huge fan of the stay at home mom and housewife crowd, Facebook lets them reconnect without that awkward face to face meeting of two old friends.

To others, Facebook is an extremely valuable tool in promoting one's own business, be it On-line or "Brick and Mortar," or an opportunity to share a business ideas with other potential Entrepreneurs in the digital age. They use the access that Facebook gives them to find potentially thousands of other Like Minded individuals out there that may be either looking for a product that they sell or a service they can offer.

The power of Facebook is in its simplistic approach. You do not go on Facebook knowing that you are going to amass great wisdom from what you see or read. Moms and Housewives do not sign-in for anything other than the entertainment value it offers. You go on there for almost a social and comical value. It's a time and opportunity to release yourself from your daily life and live in a moment of no stress, no screaming kids and countless possibilities of entertainment. You can laugh, cry or get angry at the multitude of things on Facebook. But... the key factor here is that you become focused on what you are viewing or reading and watch and listen to everything there. All becomes important. You respond to people's statuses, you forward updates you like or don't, you become involved in a new medium where everything you see is connected to you at that moment. You might find yourself reading the silliest post that makes little sense to most sane people... but you still read it and it becomes part of your memory. These silly posts or fun images are basically a form of advertising, regardless of what the submitter intended. These posts hold in them a hidden opportunity, at the least, that many will see as an opportunity for themselves. Be it, the idea to take a vacation, what daycare to send the kids to or the possibility of a new at home business venture, may arise from things you see and read on Facebook.

Facebook for a business owner, allows people access to a treasure trove of new media ideas and potential clients that mere advertising could not accomplish or would be way to expensive to do so. You can find your next biggest sale or the next Entrepreneur to add to your business. Most Online and Internet Marketers have found their fortunes or lost their savings in products like Google Adwords and other "Pay per click" media. Though these are incredible great tools for the skilled marketer, it can get very expensive if you are not careful. Facebook on the other hand is completely free! What better way to promote or even start your business than with a Free advertising budget. You have the ability to not only start up a personal site but also a business "Fanpage" that you can give the online world access to. Imagine now a venue of people that have usually similar likes and interest to you (friends on your personal page). When these people "friend" you and you the same, both of your "status updates" and messages are visible on each other's pages. By making posts on your business with messages that are geared to develop interest in what you are doing rather than pushing a sale can generate potential business leads from your friends, but also their friends as well. Getting people then to "friend" you and your business webpage can only mean a potential of thousands of more eyes looking at what you are doing and offering... all without ever paying a dime!

Of course, converting many of these friends to sales through whatever product or system you are selling is another story and most definitely great news for future articles. Remember though here today that taking the time to post "valuable information on your product or service" on Facebook not only will keep you in touch with people you may not be able to see every day, but it also works as a form of "drip marketing." Every time someone reads your posts, your product or services gets pushed deeper into their head. When they determine they need something that you sell or offer, chances are they might now remember you. Anything and everything you post on Facebook makes an impression on possible Ten or Hundred or even thousands of people. Why not make it an impression that culminates in a financial gain for you? A future sale could be on the horizon... and one that costs nothing other than your time.
