If you mention that ad copywriting is one of the better talents one could learn many people appear to shy away from it. The fact is however there is no mystery to accomplished ad copy writing, and provided you grasp a couple of easy rules it can be quite uncomplicated. The following tips about ad copywriting made easy will even help the complete beginner to generate very good copy.

Font
The text you employ is important as it is advisable to make sure that what you compose is easy to read by everybody. The four I would suggest to stick with are, Ariel, Times, Tahoma and Georgia. Just stick with 3 fundamental colours in your text, for instance Red, Black and Maroon. It's important to don't forget - it must be kept clean and straightforward and easy to read, so only use white background.

Headline
The head line for your ad copy must be 17 - 30 words long, and as a rule the headline is finished in red text. It's essential to be sure that you capitalize the first letter of every word in your headline. The headline has to drag the reader in and cause them need to read the next line. You have to want people to think “I want to have more information”.

A method to do this is to use curiosity, as this can be a extremely potent way to pull people in. Take the next 2 headlines,

“I can teach you how to earn some money online”

“Become skilled at these little known secrets to earning money online”

I know which one I would go with, everyone loves a secret. You tell someone that you already know a secret and then say nothing, you'll be able to bet within a couple of seconds they will be asking you what the secret is.

To get your readers attention use phrases like

Who else wants to........

Little known secrets to.......

Now you can..........

Here is a method that is helping........

Power Words
Utilizing power words something like, Secret, Amazing, Free will give a sentence or statement even more readability, as in the one below

“learn this amazing secret for Free”

Power verbs are exceptionally strong and will give your ad copy so much more punch. Rather then saying “this secret will can help you beat your competition” use the verb slaughter, and now it reads “this secret will enable you to slaughter your competition” this is now much more punchy and will stick within your readers mind a lot more than the first statement.

Following some of these easy rules will enhance your ad copy, whether it's for a squeeze page or a sales page. When you start to understand these rules you'll begin to see ads irrespective of whether online or in newspapers and magazines in a whole new light.
