If you have never played foosball, you may not even be familiar with what it is. Playing foosball is pretty much playing a game of soccer on a table with 8 rods holding figures and a free ball that you try to get beyond the figures to get a goal. That may look like a lot of words that made no sense. What is in fact is is a small game of soccer played with stiff men on rods that you twist to transport the guys and kick the ball. There are frequently two players, one for each team, and you will have 4 rods to control.
There are 13 players on each team that you will be in charge of. The two things that you desire to do during the game are defend your goal and try to score in the other player's goal. You will usually play the first to five goals is the winner. People will time and again play matches of the best 2 out of 3 or best 3 out of 5 games.
Players will more often than not toss a coin to decide who gets the first serve. After that, the team who was last scored on will get to serve a loose ball. When it is your chance to serve, you will want to strive to point toward at your bar with five men on it which is known as your 5 bar. You will commonly pass with this bar, but if you are proficient enough to shoot and score from this one you can. You have to get the ball going again within 10 seconds. A customary move is to then pass to your three bar--the bar with three men who can shoot and score a goal. The ball has to be moving on all over again within 10 seconds, but in the meantime you can tap the ball between your players to get lined up to shoot a goal.
Unsportsmanlike conduct is frowned upon in foosball. One of those things to steer clear of is spinning the rods. As satisfying as that may be, it is not permissible in the rules of the game. Another thing to be aware of is if a ball stops on the table and you can't make contact with it or if it flies off of the table, it is considered a dead ball. If this happens in the defensive zone, the nearest player will resume play. If not, the team who formerly served would serve again.
Some things to steer clear of when you are playing defense are that you should not bang against the walls or jar the table. You have 3 defensive bars including one 5 bar, one 3 bar and one 2 bar. From time to time it helps to use the 2 bar and the 3 bar together and the 5 bar independently.
Last thing to know is that you shoot to the goal on your right and defend the goal on your left. A considerable and embarrassing mistake would be to score a goal on your own team. So now you should get out there and try to play some foosball.
